Client: UNILEVER
Scope: CoDevelopment of wayfinding in line with health and safety principles, visual identity for an internal project related to digitisation, installation with company logo at the factory entrance, infographics, wall design in dining room, meeting rooms and corridors (murals, stickers), mural design, plant plan, production, organisation, supervision and installation.
Year: 2023/2024
We have been servicing the UNILEVER factory for more than a year, designing directional signage, navigation systems and solutions related to space branding and safety. Our collaboration involves a wide range of activities, and we carried out all tasks on the factory site for and in compliance with health and safety principles, involving our trusted and experienced installation team. We ensured that the entire process ran smoothly and safely, minimising disruption to the daily operations of the factory.
When designing the space arrangement for an industrial client, we designed a comprehensive system of directional information and a set of icons to help orientate the client within the factory. We opted for simple and clear symbols to ensure maximum intuitive navigation. In addition, infographics were also included on employee lockers or health and safety boards.
The new identity project for UNILEVER was created with the employees in mind, with the aim of facilitating communication and providing all the necessary information related to the digitalisation of processes and documentation. As a result of the collaboration, we were commissioned to design a graphic layout, but with strict branding and guidelines already established. In addition, the project included optimising directional communication and signage for the entrances to the various rooms, which make it easier to navigate the plant and reinforce brand awareness. We also introduced the ‘DIGI Space’, a creative hub that inspires and supports the exchange of knowledge between departments.
Nothing draws attention on a large scale like a colourful, hand-painted mural. We engaged a local artist and specialists trained in working at heights for the project. Its execution required the design of special templates so that the artwork could be scaled to the size of the mural. This one, not only blends in perfectly with the factory's surroundings, building a positive corporate image, but also enhances and adds colour to the industrial views of the plant. The mural reinforced Unilever's brand identity and will add to the mission to promote and build positive associations with the company.
